Drought Warning
State-wide Level 1 Drought Response Declaration
Effective: April 27,2026
Due to ongoing dry conditions and in coordination with state guidance, a Level 1 Drought Response has been issued for our area. While water service remains stable, these conditions require all water systems and customers to begin voluntary conservation efforts to help preserve our available water resources.
Under a Drought Response Level 1, general landscape watering may be done
between 4pm and 10 am each day, and the following activities may be done at any time of day:
• Irrigation of personal food gardens may be done at any time of day;
• Irrigation of new and replanted plant, seed, or turf may be done at any time of day for 30
days after installation;
• Drip irrigation or irrigation using soaker hoses may be done at any time of day; and
• Hand watering with a hose with automatic cutoff or handheld container may be done at any
time of day.
Other simple, proactive steps to reduce water usage, include:
Repairing any leaks in plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems, or service lines
Running dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads
Turning off water while brushing teeth or shaving
Avoiding unnecessary water use such as washing vehicles or driveways
These small actions, when taken collectively, can make a significant impact in maintaining adequate water supply for essential needs such as drinking water, sanitation, and fire protection.
We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates if additional measures become necessary. Your cooperation and commitment to conserving water are greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions or would like additional conservation tips, please feel free to contact our office.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for doing your part to help protect our water resources.

Burn Ban Warning
Our crews have been working tirelessly over the last few days responding to fires, smoke investigations, and reported illegal burns. I can’t express my gratitude enough for the professionalism and hard work during this period of increased fire activity. To sustain operational effectiveness, additional personnel have been called in to supplement staffing and provide relief for crews engaged in extended incidents.
We also extended our appreciation to our partner agencies: City of Bremen Fire, Cleburne County Fire, Polk County Fire, Carroll County Fire/EMA, Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, Haralson County Marshall’s Office, Ambucare EMS and Haralson County 911 who have assisted us during times of need. The teamwork and cooperation shown across agencies has been critical in managing these incidents safety and effectively.
Additionally, we would like to thank our County and City Officials for their support in helping share burn ban information and keeping the public informed.
At this time, the burn ban remains in effect. We are hopeful for rain in the coming days, which will help improve conditions. Until then, we ask everyone to continue adhering to the burn ban and remain vigilant.
Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.
